Winter Wardrobe Series Part 3 - Choosing Winter Sewing Patterns

Hey guys! This is the final part of the Salt&Stitch winter wardrobe series focusing on choosing great winter sewing patterns! Following on from this post next week there will be a FREE Winter Wardrobe Checklist download to help you plan! :)

INSPIRATION

YOUR OWN WARDROBE

I'd describe my winter style as casual smart, practical + comfortable (always!) and with lots of layering to keep warm... merino knit tops & cropped jumpers all layered up and denim or cord skirts & pants are my favourites. Stuff you can put more things over to keep snug when its frosty outside!

Think of the items you have.. and what has been worn to death and might need replacing (in my case the cropped jumper in the top right hand photo) + what you wear all the time and need more of + what you don't have and need.. don't wait until times are desperate!! (a tendency which I am always trying to overcome!) :)

PATTERN MAKERS + SEWERS

I take most inspiration from pattern makers and sewists (hello Instagram!) - I love seeing all of the different styles, and being able to look up how they look on all different shapes and sizes. Here are a few favourites:

Closet Case Patterns

Victory Patterns

Merchant & Mills

Style Arc

Seamwork Magazine

Grainline Studio

FASHION DESIGNERS, LABELS + MAKERS:

Make My Lemonade (also pattern makers)

Matter Prints

Princess Highway

FAVOURITE WINTER PATTERNS:
